Issue:

The appellant in this appeal is a Legal Practitioner who was tried and convicted by the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee after finding him guilty of infamous conduct in a professional respect. He was sentenced to a suspension term of one year within which he should not engage in practice as a legal practitioner. The suspension term was to commence from 7th October, 2002. The appellant who was not happy with this decision of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee, in exercise of his right of appeal under Section 12 (7) of the Legal Practitioners Act Cap 207, laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990, as amended by the Legal Practitioners (Amendment) Decree No 21 of 1994, has now appealed to this court.
